It took just shy of a decade to get The Galleries up and running, from about this time of year in 1983 when the old Market Square bus station closed, and they coned off the road into that bus station, and prepared to demolish it, and it was well into 1992 after Princess Diana, had officially opened the place, before work finally ended.
