My next trip over The Pennines may well not be to Manc, much as I do love and miss the dear old place.

I see that Shakespeare North in Prescot has opened.

Sounds good.

I have not been further West than Pimbo lane this Century, and have not been to Prescot since 1950's, and cannot really claim to know the area.

I had a few relatives with whom I could stay, but alas no more.

Any chance of recommendations for eateries and sleeperies in that neck of the woods?
