Empress has hit the nail on the head there. If schools are accepting it and people are thinking it's not a regulation so, therefore, not important, it's the start of the slippery slope. She says her son is struggling with writing. No wonder if the school is accepting it anyway and, if that is the case, how will he improve? I know this. There are young people coming into this country from Asia, North Africa and Eastern Europe, can't speak English, let alone read and write it, yet, within twelve months they can read and write in English, correctly. It's important to them. Wouldn't it be embarassing for 'them' to be teaching us how to write correctly in our own language?
