The only real "less fortunate" are the homeless who because they have "no fixed abode" and cannot claim any benefits or even get a bank account.

Anyone else is not living in hardship or poverty as we now have a benefit system where you get far more today than years ago when the only benefits were Unemployment Benefit and Family Allowance and prior to the Attlee Labour government of 1945, no benefit system or free health service at all.

If indeed there are those living in hardship today, perhaps it is because of their self inflicted lifestyle of spending their incomes on things like alcohol, cigarettes. drugs etc.

Or perhaps not even having the latest Samsung Galaxy smart phone
