Anyone who has worked all their live and paid tax and national insurance should not be paying tax when retired, especially when private pensions have devalued so much from what people were told they would get when they first joined a private pension scheme.

If I had my time again, I would have not contracted out of the state scheme as it is the door to other retirements benefits like Pension Credit etc which has made many of the workshy better off than those who always worked for a living
