Kind and sensible words Platty... when I was courting her indoors who lived in hindley.. 7 members if her family worked for the NCB... either on top or in the face... I was a young bobby at the time and was at several locations... kirkless... parkside... golborne... leigh doing my bit (Preventing breach of the peace) I didnt want to be there full stop... but that was my job... I saw her family members all the time... on the picket line and socially... they all knew I wasnt a Maggies boot boy and treated me accordingly.... thats why we are all STILL a strong and caring family on her side... I was never insulted... abused... ignored etc... we laughed about it and I was glad to see the end of it. I honestly hope that the huge volumes of coal that are still there can be hued and decarbonised for good use.
