It was on the news today, a bloke 'in the know' being interviewed, he said, "Nato countries want to intervene, but they can't as that would mean all Europe and US being at war with Russia."

Well, yes, of course it would. But, the real reason is, if Nato countries did intervene, Putin would carry out his threat and send nuclear missiles out accordingly.
And, this means that he's holding the rest of the World to ransom.
Nobody is going to stop him, because they can't and they know they can't.
