Plus people’s homes are much better suited to having friends around. The whole entertainment scene has changed. People used to meet their friends in clubs and pubs because they had heating, indoor toilets, entertainment etc. but lots of homes are suitable for that now. I would seldom think of going to the pub. You are paying more for a glass of wine than you pay for a bottle at the Liquor Store.
