I can't speak for America, but when we were in Spain when it was their wedding, and my Mrs. asked a couple of the local women, "are you watching the wedding"?
Well, they just looked at her blankly, as they hadn't a clue who they were. They'd never even heard of them.

The English are very big-headed about this country, thinking it means something to foreign nationals, but they actually know very little about the UK. Some don't know the UK is split into four countries and where they actually are.

On the other hand, they know all the football clubs, Wigan athletic included, but they don't know where they are geographically.

That said, how many Wiganers know the name of the King of Spain's grandson and who he's married to. Or, even, the names of the 'regions' of Spain and where they are?
