Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

I did my ONC at St.Helens,the 6 months block release course,(6 mths at tech,6 mths at pit)1972-74.I can remember Bob Dickie,I think he was head lecturer,Viv Quick,Alastair Mcmillan and a fella called Toft,I think, who used to come up from the main college to teach us Maths.Viv Quick taught Mining Science,Bob Dickie surveying and "Mac" taught Geology.A cracking bloke was Alastair. He used to organize field trips to Castleton in Derbyshire using the Notre Dame Convent's minibus.They were joint expeditions with the 6th form convent girls!!! Enough said.I used to get a lift to college off Derek Bennett,picking up Lawrence Mchrystal on the way at Platt Bridge.Other "potential managers" in the class that I can remember were, Neil Wilkinson and Peter Smith.
