In and Around Wigan
Hi everyone,
I hope you're well. About six years ago I began collecting postcards if Wigan as a hobby. My collection isn't vast by any means, but it brings me lots of joy looking at the pictures of familiar places of the town where I grew up.
For this reason I was particularly pleased when I saw a book earlier this year called, 'In and around Wigan - the postcard collection' by Roy Pennington. It contains so many great historical images of Wigan from times gone by, and so many postcards that I've never before seen.
So, if like me, you're into collecting postcards of Wigan, I'd highly recommend taking a look.
All the best
James

James, are there postcards of Mesnes Park and other parks in the Borough? It sounds an interesting collection.

Ha ha, nice one Tonker.
Made me laugh.
Actually the reason for endeavouring to find photos of Wigan and District's parks is to help with my historic research of the area's parks, gardens and public open spaces. I know, it sounds boring but one of my main hobbies is Landscape history.
