Renumbering of houses between 1901 and 1911
Hello everyone
Researching my family history and have two sets of relatives living on Warrington Road in the 1901 census living 3 doors apart, and in the 1911 census they are still living 3 doors apart on Warrington Road but the house numbers have changed (house numbers are 216 higher). Seems almost certain that the houses were renumbered rather than both families just happening to move houses the same distance up the road. Does anyone know of any records of the house numbers actually being changed?
Best regards
Dave Gaskell
EDIT FOLLOWING REPLY: Warrington Road, Pemberton. Specifically houses numbered in the 300s in 1901 changing to 500s by 1911.

This seemed to happen a few times in different areas. Sometimes houses were demolished and other houses were renumbered. It happened were I lived but they just missed numbers There was Sams Wood house which is now 5A Whitledge Green which now has flat numbers inside then the houses are numbered 19 to 33 then 40 to 49 totally confusing

There is no Warrington Road in Pemberton. The main road is Ormskirk Road.
