an appointment at leigh today ,blood pressure ,height ,weight.nurse in attendance said blood pressure fine ,i go in to see doctor ,your blood pressure is quite high he said ,i joked no wonder waiting to see you ,but honestly one says one thing and another says sumat else .quite frankly iv not much faith in any doctor or nurse these days .dont get me wrong ive met some wonderful doctors and nurses .the nurses what were there today , were joking how only a minute ago they had fogotten what they should have wrote down .god help anyone going in for an operation

The goal posts were moved years ago regarding blood pressure,it was ok at 100 + your age for the top reading at one time,and some doctors still use this method,so a 70 year old would be fine at 170 over 90.

Blood pressure can be different during the day so there is no normal reading has such

I don't think the BP monitors you buy for use at home are very accurate.Anyone else got view ?

I take mine to the Pharmacy when I have my annual consultation with the Pharmacist and she cross checks it with hers and so far so good. Almost all major stores here have them as there are pharmacies in there and I would think they are checked and my readings tally with my home one.

I use a blood pressure monitor twice a day to check my wife's BP and heart rate.This m/c has been cross checked at the chemist and matches theirsWaiting for her to go to the Hospital for a ECG next week
