Whups, smarty, pat brown and peter fishwick did a season at vic, and it is in hindley green,
Landlord imported the players to have a good team,

A few years ago, many pub landlords used to recruit non pub regulars not only for darts, but also for their pub football and angling teams with some teams even playing under the name of the landlord rather than the name of the pub.

tiger when we played them in the observer final at tiffanys we were 3-2 up & i played pey fishwich & beat him to win it 4-2 for the simms road . they had an imported team then with smarty , peter fishwick , john hammond, eric parkinson, alan waterworth. norman hurst ETC . but it did them no good. there pics in album on the sports gallery under the wigan observer darts competition of the team tiger

Yea that's right TC, Don Thompson poached all the best players for the Vic and won a lot of money on big bets on their players The reason I asked whups about Holty is because he collapsed and died in the road a few weeks ago and his funeral is next week.

Good days whups, wish we were back now, peter fishwick and brian bispham beat me and my mate in a semi final in bolton, 1-1, and my mate had 3 darts at double win 2--1, alas he missed and peter got up in 3 darts,
Them days it was rare miss a double in 3 darts .
