Congratulations to the Wigan Wheelchair First Team in winning their final and adding to the Super League Gand Final Trophy, League Leaders Shield and the Reserve League Trophy.

What a pity that the Academy team were denied their moment of glory!

Well done to all concerned!

Actually a treble as the Reserves won their Championship and would even been a fourth with the Academy, but for a botch up about substitutes.

The next job is to make the Women's team better!

I only hope that Wigan will improve as a result of producing good young players like Grace Banks, Eva Hunter, Molly Jones etc from the Academy and not resort to what York did a couple of seasons or so ago when going into their new stadium by porching the Head Coach and a number of the best players of Castleford who at the time were one of the best Womens teams along with Leeds, St Helens and Wigan.

As a result, Castleford have never recovered from it!

Whups

Leeds and St Helens also sign and produce players who end up at other clubs in the Super League, Championship and Division One.

All three clubs are the backbone of the game where players are concerned.
