need info can anybody help please

my father William Croston use to drive coaches.takeing people to and from factorys.he was killed in road accident in 1954 whilst doing hisrun from a factory in bury.the accident happened on bury old road.Ithink it must have been in the papers.I would like to know what happened that day.where would i go to get info.My mother died 1961 we were left orphans.there was an article in the observer on the front page and a picture of me and three sisters and brother.where would i go to see a copy of the paper and maybe get a copy of the picture.i would be very gratefull for any help.kind regards freeway

go to history shop in wigan and look at the old papers on film,i am sure they could help you,good luck.

Hi coccium, my dad did have a brother called fred. he use to live in the grove in ince.sadly he died a few years ago freeway

I cant tell you much about the accident freeway even though i was on the coach.I even went to the hospital in the same ambulance as your father.I only had two broken ribs but your father was much more seriously injured.I stood looking down at him as we went to Bury hospital.I remember saying to him You,ll be alright mate which shows you how much i knew i was all of seventeen.The young man sitting in the front seat was also killed.He lived on Ince Bar name of Roger Livesey age fifteen.
