I am currently doing a research project into 7 men who worked at Coops and Co Mill in Wigan. The 7 men enlisted in the army during WW1 and never returned to Wigan. I have positively identified 5 of the 7 men but am struggling with the following 2; John Cartwright and Henry Monks. I beleive we have narrowed Henry down to the following possibles
Lance Corporal HENRY MONKS
17150, "D" Coy. 9th Bn., Cheshire Regiment, who died age 21, on 02 July 1916.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Monks, of 20, Moston St., Reddish, Stockport.

Private H MONKS, 46622, 12th Bn., Manchester Regiment, who died, on 19 October 1917
Remembered with honour DOZINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY
Lance Corporal H MONKS, 200759, "D" Bn., Tank Corps, who died, on 20 November 1917
Remembered with honour, FLESQUIERES HILL BRITISH CEMETERY
Private H F MONKS, 358895, 2nd/10th Bn., The King's (Liverpool Regiment), who died, on 30 April 1917

24407 Private John Cartwright 10th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers, KIA aged 19 20/07/1916 son of James and Esther Cartwright 30 Richmond Street Wigan.
S/17620 Private John Cartwright 7th Battalion the Gordan Highlanders, KIA aged 19 14/04/1918 son of William and Ann Jane Cartwright of 2 Silver Street, Wigan.
13729 Private John Cartwright 10th Battalion the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, KIA age 29 12/07/1916 husband of Elizabeth Ann Cartwright of 5 Lea Street Wigan.
iIf anyone has any info on which of these men worked at Coops and Co, dorning street I would appreciate any info!
