St Catharines Church in Scholes to close

I was christened there. My parents were married there, all my relatives on my mother’s side belonged to that church.

And Charles, the king of England and head of the Church of England, is allowing Islamic worship to be carried on in St.George’s Hall at Windsor Castle.

Well if you don't use it, then you will lose it, and so what a waste of money rebuilding the steeple was

It will not be the last church to close its doorsHoly Trinity Church at Downall Green is on a list of at least 12 churches threatened with closure

It's a shame to hear of so many churches closing. It's the lifeblood of many people who need a place to pray and contemplate, and some of the coffee mornings and other events they put on.

Sadly, though in this day of modern technology, perhaps fewer people feel inclined to use them. I don't know why as I follow no religion, but a dear friend of mine has been a church-goer all her life from being an infant.

A lot of the churches don't even have a resident priest/vicar and now they can cover multiple churches
