Was there ever an entrance to Wigan North Western Station from Queen St, I was told The King & Queen came to Wigan & came down a glass covered staircase in this st.

Cindy yes there was a entrance off Queen Street. It was in the news a few years ago when part of it collapsed onto a couple of cars and they had to close one lane on Queen Street. 1st Dec 2016

The wooden hoist tower on platform 4 of the old station sat atop of a subway under the lines and platforms which emerged somewhere in vicinity of Queen Street/Faggy Lane. Maybe that is what collapsed.

I only remember the old iron bridge from king st which at one time led right up to platform, then it was routed down side of car park coming out to station front when they renovated North Western Station.
