Bull Hey- Wigan Cricket Club

Can anyone enlighten me as to why Wigan Cricket Club grounds off Park Road are named Bull Hey?

Undoubtedly there are some variations, but 'Hey' appearing in a place name will often denote a place enclosed by a hedge.

Ena, you are right. Hey is an old word for hedge and is derived from a French word. Presumably the land was a field where bulls may have been kept, enclosed by a hedge.
