Church records

Started by: daviessb (90)

The lovely Freda did an amazing job transcribing the cemetery records.
I have used them so many times over the years and still am. I've broken down so many brick walls and also when I lived abroad and didn't have access to the History Shop they were fantastic.
Wondering if there are church records we could all help to transcribe? I used to do some for the Online Parish Clerk when I was away. There are some burials I can't find on the Wigan ones so I'm presuming they are in the church yards. I'd be happy to help transcribe or help do grave plans etc. Anyone any ideas or want to start a group? Was looking at a post with groups helping to keep graveyards tidy, this would be great when we come out of a bit of the lockdown. Social distancing would be easy. x
