Oh Tom, you'd best edit your post to read naturalist.

The other is something totally different!

Bird watching in my garden at the moment is a waste of time. The Starlings come and go,Today not seen or heard any. There is a Blackbird which is taking food from my back garden and a Robin shows its face a couple of times a week. Lately a pesky fat Pigeon will come and try to use the bird table. At the bird table I have a half coconut full of feed also fat balls and suet with mealy worm on the table. In the back garden I have a little container with suet/mealy worm in it(blackbird is eating from this) and a tube feeder full of bird seed which probably will start growing if no takers for feed.Even in the street the dawn chorus of gulls have gone onto pastures new-I will not miss them with their noise

There used to be ''one of those places'' in Rufford where they walk round in the nak.
Re birds, there were Seven of those White Egrets in the field around the back of my house over the weekend, the local Sparrowhawk seems to be about a bit more than usual so not many garden birds at the moment.
