On the way back from picking my semi skilled, part time, never winning bingo player home tonight down the A49 new road, I saw the poster, For Sale at the island just before the run over the Canal bridge,

If there is a money to be made from the selling of whatever little piece of land is owned on the excuse of so called needed housing in what has now become "make a fast buck Britain", the leisure, hobbies and pleasures of ordinary people like ourselves do not matter.

It's government-owned land and is being sold for commercial development. It's not a "little piece" either. It's the power station development land.

It’s 58 acres. Plans for a mixed development, including 430 homes, were approved in 2015.

As long as they make them affordable housing for residents of Wigan...fine...But ...where there's a pound to be made ;!! Let's see.

The term ' affordable housing ' to us means a working class family can afford to buy it but, to the The developer it has a different meaning, Its affordable to a Dinkie ( double income with no kids) on good salaries .
