They even warned people to keep their dogs on a lead if they went out just in case it got blown away

I recall a few years ago when it was blowing a gale.I took the dog out for a walk and it cocked its leg up and got blown over.It was looking round to see what had happened.

I didn't go to work yesterday because of those high winds. I was too terrified because I'm not sturdy enough to have been able to walk out in it.

I would most definitely have been blown over.

You did right Mollie a Man/Woman needs to know their limitations, If ya don't feel safe , stay in because, you cause yourself and others who have to come out to save you problems, Its good sense to think, safety first,,

I had an encounter with a very strong wind many years ago when I was around 34/35.

I was working in Upper Dicconson Street at the time and at lunchtime I went out to nip up Mesnes Street to get a pie for me din-dins. I was at the edge of the pavement waiting to cross the road next to a pole of some sort when suddenly, the wind came up right behind me and shoved me, almost into the road. There was a man behind me who saw what was happening and dragged me back to safety, and I managed to wrap one arm round the pole just in time, thank goodness.

Never again.
