If you get a phone call and the caller doesn't immediately identify themselves and you have to ask, just put the phone down. Don't get into conversation with them or they just might manage to wear you down just to get rid them. Not you, Tom, but for anyone reading this.

These people have no morals, they will rob old folks and tell them , they are doing a service,,,

I know, and a lot of old folk will think they're investing their money on a worthwhile cause, then rip them off leaving them penniless. It's happened time after time according to some of the programmes I've watched on TV. They're ruthless, but they're also clever. I don't get any unsolicited phone calls any longer, thank goodness.

I don't answer calls unless I know who is calling.

I don't have Caller ID on my phone, so I have to pick up to see who's calling but, if a cold caller gets through anyway, I give them short shrift and hang up on them.
