Done a donation to the Sally Army every year....not a card fan.

I always give to The Salvation Army because when the firefighters are on what they call a big shout the Sally Army roll up with the butty van and feed them.I also give to the air ambulance because they work together with the firefighters.

No charities...no chuggers..no homeless...no Sally army....nowt...Mr Starmer has robbed me...so I don't give anymore.

I have a chosen charity. what I don't like are the non stop charity ads that are on TV in the afternoon. when I was working donated a few pounds each month to Crisis but then I was pestered with asking for just £2 more so I stopped it altogether.

Don't trust any of them anymore...paying their executives more than Prime minister.

billinge biker: i used to teach in a Scope school. lovely place but we were told money was tight. WE made xmas cards on cardboard that yeat. Then the schoolwas to close. I went to a meeting with patents facing executives. Someone had done some digging and found out what silly money had been spent on refurbishing the executive off ices in London. They nearly got lynched . the school closed sadly

I used to give out of my wages to NSPCC and like you Kath I was constantly bombarded to give more money and I cancelled my donation.Where money is concerned some people have sticky fingers and get greedy and charities now have a very bad reputation.

I've had no Christmas presents to buy for, nor receive from for many years, and it doesn't bother me. Last year I didn't send any cards because I was in hospital.

I will be giving my next door neighbour a little something to thank her for helping me out with something over the year.

The only charitable organisation I give to is the World Wildlife Foundation for just £9 a month, subscribing to a Bengal tiger by the name of Kimera, as Bengal tigers are under threat of extinction, so that's what I do my bit for.

When I've had people from charities knocking on my door to give just £2 a month or whatever, I ask them if someone will collect it and, invariably they say no, I have to pay online, I say absolutely not as I won't give my private and banking details to anyone.

Whilst on holiday i came back into the hotel and two girls (part of the children's entertainers) were collecting for the local hospital . I put a donation into their box and they went to give me a large round decoration to take home. I explained I was travelling with minimal luggage and it would not survive the journey. One of the girls painted it red which Yvonne loved and once it was dry sent for some ladders and put it in pride of place in the middle of the large Christmas tree in the hotel lobby,So a memory will stay in Malta for Yvonne
