Storm Bert

Do any of you remember Storm Desmond which hit over Christmas 2015 LINK ?
Well this Storm Bert we are having today is reminding me of 'Desmond' as in after a cold spell of weather in Britain, storm Desmond arrived from the tropics full of very moist warm air, the warmer the air the more moisture/water vapour the air can hold, that warm moisture laden air then bumped into very cold air over Britain, and the resulting drop in temperature caused the water vapour to condense and therefore dump the resulting water on the land in the form of very heavy and prolonged rain, which caused a lot of flooding, and it is happening again today

In other words, condensation.
It happens regular in a bathroom!

Cheshire Puss
Yes, the process is called 'condensation' producing the 'condensate'

The timing was spot on for me, My back garden got flooded at exactly the right time for testing my new boat out, You can never be sure the prop is turning the right way, Putting it in water to try it out is the best way and, I found out it was spinning backwards so, alter the wiring and, job done, thank you rain

I wonder if Northern rail staff have turned up in droves to work this weekend due to storm Bert knowing they will be sent home with full pay due to cancellations due to adverse weather.

Probably FM.The worst service in the country by far.

Actually, the worse rail sevice is that of Avanti who now have the West Coast main line franchise, previously operated by Virgin who were a far better rail operating company and far more efficient!

The rail companies vary from bad to awful

"We should be great now that the railmen have got their pay rise"
Especially the fitters who perhaps can repair the rolling stock better to prevent them breaking down and giving those who never travel on them the opportunity to moan about them!

A fine body of men those railway fitters are, the current pathetic state of are railways can't be blamed on them theyre hardworking,
conscientious highly skilled artisan craftsmen

I can assure you OC that the technicians and engineers who maintain rolling stock are highly trained and have to work to very high standards and take pride in their job.Once again you contradict yourself.

I am well aware that the fitters do indeed do a great job in maintaining the railway rolling stock, but surely you both must have realised that my comments were more of a pesonal nature!
