There are some corkers, aren't there. In medicine though, the newly formed illnesses are usually two or three words put together to form new ones, as in neurodivergent. Neuro meaning of the brain and nervous system, and divergent means different interpretations so, put together, it just means that those conditions result in a brain disorder of one sort or another. I think.

True Mollie....haven't they got better things to think about though ..going back to my Police days a memo was sent around that you cannot call Dwarfs as Dwarfs any more .they had to be described as P.O.R.G.S. persons of restricted growth syndrome....which in itself was a more insulting term than Dwarfs...??

Mental heath.
How come that diagnosis has appeared recenty?

What does it actually mean? Is it a conglomeration of ailments or it a singular diagnosis of a specific condition?

Have yoo swallowed a dictionary

I quite like the word 'Neurodivergent' because some people's minds work in a different way to what is known as the 'Norm' or the normal, they process information differently, and the best known of these conditions is 'Autism', but there are other 'Neurodivergent' conditions, and do you call them 'Mental Condition's' or do you call the 'Mental Illness's' and where do draw that fine line between 'Sanity' and 'Insanity' ?

And then there is 'Delinquency' leading to 'Criminality' do you call such people 'Neurodivergent' ?

I suppose historically the more common ways to describe people who are 'Neurodivergent' would be to say that they were a bit 'Odd' or if their behaviour is questionable, then such people would be referred to has being a 'Nobhead' and there many other words to describe such people, but 'Neurodivergent' is more appropriate, so yes I like that word
