who's it gonna be ?
Donald or Kamila
I'd be voting Donald and hope that encourages Boris to come back and take his rightful place in England and he will get us back our Winter fuel allowance

It is to close to call.
It is Neck & Neck.
If Kamala wins it by a nose, or even if she wins it by a mile, Donald will say that it has been stolen from him, and Kamala is a Crook, and he has been Nobbled by the fake news

Well, my take on this and, as you know I don’t like politics, but for a start, Donald Trump is a convicted felon; secondly, he has very obvious mental health issues with psychotic tendencies; thirdly, he’s a narcissist and incapable of understanding the needs of others as he’s too full of his own self-importance; and fourthly, but most importantly, if anyone is going to push that big red button, it’s him. It’s time the USA had a lady President. Why would he be allowed to stand for President at all? I wonder if they’d allow a serial killer on death row be allowed to stand if he had millions in the bank. Nothing would surprise me with Americans.

I'm sorry to disagree Mollie although there's a lot of truth in your comments but, Donald is a true ' Uncle Sam , apple pie American , he lives and breaths What America stands for and, He's a self made Billionaire, Who better to rule the The land of opportunity, He's a bullet dodger, he laughed at covid and if he wins, that will be a monumental event that will be hard to beat,
Go Donald Go I say ...

"Kamila"
Trump isn’t entirely a self-made man. Trump took over his father’s business, and he inherited money when his father died.

Do you think any Americans would sit there, on a local forum, talking about who would win as Prime Minister of the UK in the general election?

Tomplum Donald trump isn't a self made billionaire ,on the other hand Iam a self made multimillionaire unfortunately it's in rupees

No Tom, don't apologise for disagreeing with me. You have your opinions and I have mine, and I would certainly never fall out over politics because it's not important enough to cause friction, whichever side of The Pond they're on!

We have enough problems of our own with political parties and leaders without bothering about what happens in elections of the USA.

What Happens over there reflects on what happens here eventually . OK Donald did not start at the bottom but he built upwards and made his fortune work for him, He's a winner and its looking like he's winning the election, Its close at the moment not all the figures are in yet, Boris is watching and soon he'll come back too,

Well done, Don. The stock market is charging ahead like you said it would. I can't wait for next year when you will be able to talk some sense into Putin and stop his war.
I can see you and Melonie have received some kind words from Ben and Sara Netanyahu and the Zelenskys.

HM, you may be right, but that can be said about every politician that breathes. The last lot in charge over here were the same, and up to press, the present lot are no different at all.

You missed out Starmer, the leader of a new government who are carrying out unpopular policies which are affecting people's incomes which were never mentioned in their pre-election manifesto.
Is that not also lying?
Replied: 7th Nov 2024 at 07:03
If they didn't mention it in their manifesto, well , no. Its not lying!

Owdcodger has never recovered from the fact that he will have to pay for his own winter bingo jolly jaunt to Benidorm, or, whichever destination he chooses. Instead of the state paying for it via the fuel allowance.
A simple question here for you, owdcodger.
What unpopular policies DID they mention in their pre-election manifesto which they are going to / have to apply to clear up the mess that the tories left behind?

There you go again, apart from the fact that I have never been been on any winter holiday to Benidorm or indeed anywhere, I do not begrudge those who do as you seem to do about anything which you cannot afford yourself.
As for the Labour manifesto, I have enough sense to know that what political parties promise prior to an election is different to what they practice when elected which appears not to be the case of yourself and and the one of a handsome face!
And as I recall at the time it came out that the heating allowance was to end, others came on WW saying that it was never mentioned in the Labour manifesto, so why ask me and not them?
Have a nice Christmas, but don't get too drunk as it has an effect on the brain cells!

"that it was never mentioned in the Labour manifesto, so why ask me and not them?"
So they didn't lie about it then, like you suggested!

I'm not a Trump fan but I do agree with some of his policies.
He has promised mass deportations when he takes office.
And also he has hinted on reducing USA aid to Ukraine and spend taxpayers money on his own country.
In the meantime the UK provide the former comedian turned politician the Ukraine president ( who is always asking for something! ) with Storm Shadow missiles whick cost £1million pound each as well as giving them a £2.26 billion pounds military loan!

Are you saying that you agreed with aother despot invading a sovereign state like that of 1939?

The Storm Shadow missile is made in Bolton but armed elsewhere. Missile manufacture at Bolton began in the De Havilland era some 60 odd years ago.
The Wigan council leader David Molyneux MBE was a machinist at De Havilland in his younger days.

A mate of mine worked at BAE Systems at Lostok, and during the Falklands War he said that they made components at Lostok, which were fitted to the Exocet Sea Skimming Missile, which struck and sunk some of our ships during the Falklands War.

Missile production as part of the 'cold war' nuclear threat of the then Soviet Union was indeed carried out during the sixties by the De Havilland Aircraft Company at Farnworth and Lostock in the form of the Firestreak and Red Top missiles, but they were outdated while being built compared to the more advanced missiles being built by the USA and the Soviet Union.
The British missile programme was ended and the missiles already built were stored at a warehouse in Bolton with the Firesteak missiles being later sold to Saudi Arabia.
