What year was your first flight

Mine was 1975, Arenal Park in Majorca, 6 lads all in early twenties looking for Sun, sand and tuther, 2 weeks of memories, in those days, Franco was in charge and you had to obey the rules or, you got locked up in jail or worse but. we still had a good time,,

4 September1972. We'd just got married on 19 August and had to fly from Luton to Dusseldorf. Expecting to fly on a Monarch jet, we walked out onto the apron and there, greeting us, was a museum piece. It was an Invicta 4-prop job. I was horrified and hubby had to drag me on it. The "walls" of the plane had pieces of tin plate in different places (I assumed to cover holes) and I hated the two hour flight. One month later I heard on the radio that all Invicta planes had been grounded due to the fact that none of them were airworthy, and they never flew again. I wouldn't fly again after that and my poor husband had to drive us back to England on leave. Quite an adventure though.

I've never been on a propeller powered plane so I can't imagine that experience and, I'm never happy off tera fermia and I'm not happy being my height which is, 5ft 6ins

What's wrong with 5ft 6"? It's better than my 5ft. Mind you, I did have leg room on the plane.

1975 to benidorm .

1964, Liverpool to Heathrow, can’t remember what the plane was. Then onto a beautiful VC10 to Bombay with a refueling stop.in Beirut.

I flew on a prop plane about 1970.From Southampton to jersey.The year after we flew from Penzance to the Scilly isles on a BA chinook helicopter.

Even though I ride a bike everyday which some people say is the most dangerous form of transport I have never been on a plane and you will never get me on a plane! People keep saying there safe but they keep going down, I like my life in my own hands thank you very much

In 2000 we flew from Manchester to Jersey on a twin prop plane.

1959 Ringway (Manchester Airport ) to Wick in a Dakota, City of Newcastle , 2hr flight

1972, pleasure flight from Squires Gate Airfield (Blackpool Airport) in a Piper Cherokee, driven by a single engine prop, first proper flight was in 1989 from Manchester to Fort Lauderdale Florida, in a crappy DC-10.

My fist ever flight and I was travelling alone to Gibraltar in 1999. Don't know what kind of plane it was, but it was small. The runway in Gib. Is terrifyingly short and ends in the sea. Strangely I'm not scared of flying but I absolutely loathe airports. I find them totally overwhelming and have no wish ever to experience them again.

We flew to Alicante for Benidorm in 78 on a Court Line plane which was Pink in colour, return was on a Yellow one.
Never been to Spain since.

October 74 went to Montego Bay. Flew with British Airways on a 707. The company had just been formed merging Bea with Boac and I have still got a book of matches with the Boac logo.

we was on a dan air which caught fire coming home & we had to be shuttled of the plane quickly at m/chester . my parents was there to pick me up & saw the plane engine on fire coming thru the clouds unaware that it was my flight . i did,nt fly for 3 yrs after that & a mate of mine & his wife & her parents were on it & his wife never flew for 30yrs after that .
