ON THE TV THIS MORNING A WOMAN WHOSE SON WAS KI,LED WITH A MACHETE. HIS KILLER WAS JAILED 7 MONTHS AGO. HE IS BEING RELEASED TODAY I'M AFRAID IT WAS MY FAMILY MEMBER WHO HAD BEEN KILLED I WOULD FIND HIM AND KILL HIM MYSELF. MAYBE I WOULD BE JAILED FOR 6 MONTHS OR PROBATION AS I WOULD CLAIM I HAD SOME MENTAL PROBLEMS.
THE WORLD HAS NOW OFFICIALLY GONE MAD..

His killer is not being released. His accomplice, who supplied the machete he was killed with, is. Or has. Or might be?

Admin,
Where prison sentences are concerned, its not the world that has gome mad, but our country giving out non draconian prison sentences with no hard labour and reductions of now 40% which are of no deterent whatsoever to habitual criminals!
Those being released will be laughing their heads off all the way from the prisons to the lavish welcome home parties of families and fellow crminals.
And why on earth are we keeping serial killers like Brady, Hindley, Neilson, Speakman, Sutcliffe etc in prison at the tax payers expense when in the case of conclusive proof of their multi crimes is surely a good enough reason for the death penalty to be carried out.
What we need in charge of the CPS is the likes of a Judge Jefferies and not a do gooder like Starme!

If any prisoner is released early, not having served the full term and re offends, the person in authority who signed his release form should be jailed for aiding and abetting that crime.

When the names I have mentiond were put in prison, they were alive!
I apologise for putting Speakman instead of Shipman when I had still not been fully awake.
And if anyone is a daft bat, you don't do too bad yourself at times!

Listing Speakman was your saving grace, OC., as he's still alive and still in jail (alias, Peter Chester).
One right out of five is poor, but changing him to Shipman means you're 100% wrong!

Anything what oldcodger types do not give it an ounce of credence whatsoever, without quadruply checking the facts first
I don't think he even knows that Keir Starmer had nothing whatsoever to do with the CPS when the afore mentioned culprits he named were brought to justice

Well anyone can make a mistake, but as regards Harold Shipman, he's dead too, and on about him, I once walked past his surgery in Hyde, after taking a jaunt to those parts after reading a book about the Moors Murders which had happened around there, which I find that spooky now, because at that time I was wondering what a doctors surgery was doing on the outside of a shopping centre adjacent to a market, and the doctor in question at that time in the mid 1990s was indulging in becoming the most prolific mass murderer of modern times.

I don’t know why they’re allowed to languish in an establishment that gives them a roof, bed and board, heating TV, games to play and three meals a day. They have everything like it’s an hotel, without having to pay for it.
I may anger some folk here by saying this but, in this day and age of DNA profiling, a criminal can be proven to be guilty without a shadow of a doubt, most especially in the case of murderers, whether it be the murderer of one, or of multiple human lives. There may be one in a billion which shows testing to be inconclusive, so they should serve their term in case of new evidence which may exonerate them. The other lot should be “humanely” put to death, and not by violence, otherwise the criminal justice system would be no better than their criminal acts, thereby partly freeing up a lot of space in the prisons. Why should we, as law abiding citizens, pay for their right to live, when they’ve taken the lives of others? Perhaps that way, the working people of these islands would be able to pay less tax? Well, maybe not.
Some might say that the murder of a Police Officer is a worse crime, but murder is murder, no matter whom it’s committed against. No law for one and law for another. I don’t mind being disagreed with, but that’s just my opinion.

Well put and right about what you said in regard to what should have happen and should still be done in regard to the punishment of serial killers.
Far better contribution than the two of the cat user names!

The problem here with proposing to give early release to such an amount of prisoners is the pressure it will put on the Probation Service who are struggling to cope with the amount of offenders out on license. It will be an almost impossible task without the Government investing money in Probation and increasing the number of Probation Officers... and Social workers. Every decision has an effect... many times detrimental.

I don't always agree with what I read, but I've never found it necessary to be disrespectful. I'd rather just pass over the comment and say nowt than be rude about it.
JR:
Yes, of course you're right about that, but everything has a knock-on effect. It's called the Butterfly Theory whereby just one action can ostensibly end up causing chaos on a bigger scale, and that's why I wrote my solution. It may not be the right one, but it's a thought.

Thanks Owd Codger.
Yes, us ignored little mortals often have reasonably useful solutions but sadly we don't have any influence in government decisions.

A man allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on the same day he was released from prison under the government's early release scheme.
He allegedly reoffended in Sittingbourne in Kent and was later arrested at an address in south London.

They should make Prisons so tough that the criminals don't want to go back. The DO GOODERS. LEFT WING. HOWARD LEAGUE PRISON REFORMERS have ruined the country. NO DETERRENT.. anymore They are more obsessed with reforming people. What the victims of crime want to see is PUNISHMENT..
