Children's Allowance ?

Started by: GOLDEN BEAR (6780)

I have just finished reading an article in this mornings paper Titled
"" DON'T HAVE KIDS IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THEM""I would like to know what WW members views are on this subject ?? But before any of that I will give my twopennyworth which is ,, ""IT SHOULD STAY AS IS "" For i remember back in my childhood my eldest brother did not get any but mother got it for the second child and there on. I just think there is not enough money around to keep splashing out on all these children . Also another annoying fact is that when you see most of these illegals .immigrants they tend to have shed loads of kids and expect money for them all ,so ibviously i am totally opposed to them recieving 1 p . So i tend to agree with most of the letter's written and that is if the GOV are going to keep that benefit then leave it at just the first 2 ,in some case 's they might keep it locked up in their pants !!!!

the benefit system does need radicle change GB, In our day your first 3 days of sickness was un claimable and this forced the man/woman to return to work not fully recovered but now, They expect to be kept by the state for ever more and the generations they bred have seen. not working as a way of life, It needs reform and quick and as soon as it comes, the dingie sailors will no longer want to come here,

I was the youngest of 6 children and was born in 1954. I don't even know if child allowance was around back then

Just finished reading the Chancellor's speech and she has wiped out the pensioners heating allowance for 10 million pensioners. This will include anyone who is one penny above threshold for pension credit.

But you and many others voted for those doing it!

They have not been in for a month yet and already we are seeing examples of things which people did not expect to see!

Perhaps with the ever rising birthrate which is now causing problems in housing, the time has come to follow the example of other countries who have child allowance by only paying it on a maximum number of children and for any extra chidren, food vouchers given to make sure that the benefit is for the children and not the parents spending the money on Alcohol, Cigarettes and Drugs which appparentlly is the case of many today!

That'a a brill idea OWD CODGER . Also has anyone of the people on here thought how much money is being spent on all these ommigrant kids ???? IF I were chancellor that would be my first goal. stop housing every one of them put them in tents in a field that would save millions of ££££££s
But i do beg the question about the O.A.P .s THEY GET SOMETHINGmy parents never got which was ie TRIPLE LOCK RISE every APRIL ! Another thing my parents NEVER got a bus or rail pass either !!I could go on but you will probaly not like it , finally whatever or whoever you voted for surely you must have a wee bit of grey matter ,and that is according to the GOV ACCOUNTS we are in the craper ! like it or not and it needs to be reduced ! oh and have a nice day !!!g.b.

Not all those who getting the heating allowance are well off as many are people who have been just outside the qualifying limit for benefits and pension credit.

And why is it that you have a obsession that anyone not on benefits are well off Tory's

The only people who would welcome the ending of the heating allowance for people not on benefits are those on benefits!

Well, I am neither a Tory or well off and might even be poorer when the proposed tax increase takes place.

But will you be if on pension credit?

If there were only private hospitals and private clinics available surely there would be no NHS? Be careful what you wish for

Cheshire Cat

Where have I said anything about wanting private hospitals and clinics when I only asked Comrade Whups if he needed neccessary treatment and the NHS could only offer the treatment at a private hospital or clinic, would it be accepted or declined by him.

But for the second time and like a politician, he has refused to give a answer.

And the rise in private Doctor's Surgeries, Hospitals and Clinics may have somethinng to do with many members of the public now being more wealthy and able to afford private treatment together with many companies and organisations now offering employees, memberships of private health insurance schemes.

The private sector is only helping the NHS to survive as it is not coping with providing 100% treatment to the rising population, a fact that even the Labour Party has accepted and have also confirmed that they see no problem with private sector involvement in the NHS.

After spending over fifty years working for a living, paying income tax and national insurance contributions etc, my Wife and I will also not get any heating allowance, not because we are well off as Handsomerminer seems to think, but because like thousands more of hard working people our income is only just above the figure you can apply for pension credit and as a result of all the perks those on pension credit can get like paying no income tax, no council tax etc, etc we find that we are no better off than many of the people who have been members of the workshy or to put it more bluntly, lazy idle sods!

The sickening thing is that it has been done by a labour government who we voted for most of our live.

I would check using the Pension Credit calculator, to see if you are eligible for Pension Credit LINK

The situation with how this withdrawal of the Winter Fuel Payment, will affect people who are receiving only the State Pension, or just above it, will get no Winter Fuel Payment, but someone who receives slightly less than the State Pension, and gets a couple of pounds of Pension Credit per week, will receive the Winer Fuel Payment, that is grossly unfair, to which the government may address this situation in the forthcoming Budget on the 30th October.
