IF YOU COULD TURN BACK TIME

What would you have done that you didn’t do, or what did you do that you wish you hadn’t? Would you change your mind about something, or would you have made the same choice? Nothing too personal.
For instance, when I was 15, I got my first job as a Legal Secretary for a firm of local solicitors. When I’d been there for seven years, at the age of 22, our then Legal Executive suggested I go to college and get qualified to be a Legal Exec as I’d amassed sufficient knowledge of the law in conveyancing, domestic and will making.
This put me in a quandary because I had the choice of doing just that, or getting married. I chose the latter, and I believe I did the right thing because, as he was a soldier, we moved every two years to places I’d never have seen. I wish now I could have done them both, but I couldn’t.

I would have invested a lot more money and in Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and a number of others.
Bought some things that I considered, but then decided not to buy.

I was not interested in skool and chose the path of manual work, i'd do the same again, I've never had too much money so with that came, not too much pressure meeting the expense, I've no regrets, I met a fine woman and had 2 kids and gave them a good start, contentment is like winning the lottery, I'm happy with my lot,,,

Both interesting replies. I was also satisfied with my lot as well but, who knows, if I'd taken the other path and continued my studies, I might have become a Judge one day; heaven help us, or them, as the case may be!

Emigrated to Australia as my Wife and I were going to do until we backed out at the last minute for family reasons at the time.
Now, with the way this country has gone over the past few years, we now regret not being brave enough to do it!

i don't think I would have done anything different in my life. We had our ups and downs like all married couples but made it a family life. I don't think you can stop time and any ailments either of us had probably would have come about any way. Even the super rich die some very young and you think to yourself what a waste of their life but I am happy enough tinged with sadness but will carry on and adapt

Some of the Lions have left the plain of Africa, but unlike some members of the tribes not by choice

When I was at Junior School we were all told that Lions were Kings of the Jungle! Great teaching back in the 50s.

Even though lions don't live in the jungle, they're still the king of it !

What do lions and jungles have to do with this topic?

Well, Tomplum made a literal analogy in posting, "A Lion never leaves the plains of Africa. That is where it belongs". He likened immigrants to Lions as Lions are unpredictable as are immigrants, from Africa.
Although, if all the Lions from Africa immigrated to here, we'd all have to emigrate!

There are lots of things I could change. However, everything has a knock on effect... and if I did change anything I might not have met my wife who I have had 50 odd happy years with!
