Take a tour of a Victorian Wigan building
Take a behind the scenes look at The Old Courts Arts Centre (Wigan Town Centre). The building is the former county court and was also council offices at one point. It's a great opportunity to see a bit of Wigan history.
Join Derek as he takes you around The Old Courts and tells you some of the stories of the last 10 years – and he has a few!
It's not every day we open the doors and show you what goes on behind the scenes... From the grandiose Victorian Courtroom, still sporting is beautiful character features, to the gritty prison cells and old smoky (replica)!
You'll certainly see the history, but you'll also be treated to a glimpse of the old MP offices and our green room, which has seen the likes of Shaun Ryder, John Cooper Clarke, Wheatus (to name a few!) over the years.
The tour will take approximately 1.5 hours and finishes at Bailiff Bar, where you'll be more than welcome to stay for a drink or two (we do excellent cocktails!).
Meeting point: Bailiff Bar at 6:30pm
Ages 18+
Tickets are subject to a SeeTickets fee and priced from £3

How strange. I was only wondering this morning what was happening at the Old Courts and how the fund raising was going, and up you pop!! Good luck with the tour, it sounds fascinating and is something I would love to do, but it's way beyond my capabilities these days.

Any update regarding the repairs to the floor? I'm missing watching my favourite group MOTHERSHIP/ECLIPSE

Thank you HollyH! If you ever have any questions about the building and upcoming events, let us know :) You can e-mail info@theoldcourts.com.
We miss them too admin! We managed to raise some funds towards the repairs through our crowdfunder, thanks to some very generous individuals! We are now waiting on word from insurers. As soon as we have an update, we'll be posting more info :)
