Blooming weather

Started by: linma (2949)

I live near Preston, but a Wigan lass at heart. Yesterday it was a glorious day, today it’s absolutely pouring down and the lane where I live it’s full of puddles a boat will soon be needed! Are any of you suffering with this dreadful rain?

I love it, I hate hot weather, but in summer the rain is a lot warmer, so for me there is nothing better than a nice cool summer shower, I suppose nice sunny weather is OK has long as it is not too hot, but I must admit I love the rain, and I love it in November, when the 'gloom' really starts to set in

28 degrees here, blue sky, cool breeze. It’s forecast 34 degrees this afternoon.
But I’m coming home tomorrow morning. To THAT!

We took full advantage of the Sunny Monday and ventured out to the seaside and a day out in Sunny Morecambe, No crowds and nowt much going on so, A pleasant walk along the prom with an ice cream, I asked the ice cream sales girl for a 2 bob cornet and after a short conversation found out a 2 bob cornet is now upwards of £3.50, Bloody Hell, I exclaimed, " thats almost my whole pension allowance for a week gone,

What happened to the promised heatwave in July? I've bin cowder than a penguin's bum for most of it so far.

Tom, you're still working on 1960s money! Back then a Mars Bar was 6d and now they're well over a pound a-piece - and smaller.

When mum and dad came to visit us in Germany in 1973 the currency then was still Deutsche Marks and Pfennigs. Re-calculating from Marks to Sterling, dad couldn't believe it worked out at "four bob for a cup of coffee? I think it was around 1/6d over here then."

Ooh, it's hammering down now, with some thunder and lightning. It has been warm outside today though, and thunder was to be expected. Ah well. Typical British weather. What else can we expect?

I like a good storm when it's thundering and leetnin', as long as I'm inside, not out!
