I-spy it fills a channel or two on your TVMost news is bad news but people have to know the latest news or may be at work or doing other things so miss the news and then have to catch up on their daily fix of misery

Do what I do. Don't watch it. I haven't watched or read the news in a long time because it's too depressing and I've enough worries of my own.

I think its a great asset having 24 hour news available.
Like Peter stated above. It benefits people that work unsociable hours who do not have the chance to watch it live.
Or people who have been out for the day / night and want to catch up on what has been going on whilst they have been out.
Lets not forget that the newspapers are printed prior to midnight , so any news can surface after the tabloids have been released! With 24 hour news you will hear it first via "breaking news".
Long may 24 hour news continue.

TV news is propaganda, they lie to you. Just switch it off and get your news from a trustworthy source and not the likes of the BBC, Sky News etc. And I would advise also not to watch GBNews either because they are Ofcom regulated and are just as bad as the mainstream media. And I would refuse to pay your TV lisense:)
