Flooding

Would it make a differance if they went back to Dredging the Rivers and canals where the worst places are located.

For years they have built on the natural flood plains and now they are paying the price Years ago when they developed the Three sisters they dug ditches to stop flash floods by draining the water into the lake at one end and via a outflow and stream at the other end controlled the water. Now they have built on 90% of the land and the buildings have main drains but there is still the chance of flash flooding due the drains being over loaded with water and cannot get the water away quick enough

All been privatized now Albion if it cost money no chance they want you to pay its ok. used to work in water industry there is no united utilities in Wigan now all gone they used to have gangs cleaning the reservoirs and run offs not any more

most fields have been built on, gardens turned into hardstanding driveways. nowhere for the rainwater to go. the more housing estates to be built the more flooding we will have

You're right BB not many puddles round Billinge, I've been cycling round there today, I did't even get my tyres wet,
