Barley

Started by: riocaroni (675)

Went to Asda today to get some barley only to be told they don't stock it anymore. I then went to Aldi, Home Bargains and Farmfoods of which none sell it, they all sell rice, noodles and other foreign muck but not good old English stodge!

Probably being used to make meatless burgers. I saw “ fish free fish cakes” last week. Plant based cinnamon buns the week before.

DIY brewing will have gone for a Burton if you can no-longer buy barley!

Got some in my cupboard. Grandson always asks for that rice stuff that's not rice, in his stew and dumplings

Very sad Bazzil. You can't even come up with a comment yourself, just tagging along on someone else's comment

"Morrisons usually sell it rio" - thanks nanajacqui
We must now drive out of town for barley as Wigan doesn't have a Morrisons - even the Ince one has packed its bags - shops are rapidly leaving Wigan!
H&M has now departed - there is a sign in the window that says "You can visit us in St Helens or the Trafford Centre"... doesn't reassure me somehow!
