Römertopf

Started by: ena malcup (4151)

As we seem to currently have a flurry of threads concerning food/cooking, I thought maybe a good time to ask if any of you have tried Römertopf method of cooking?

Essentially one pot dishes, slow cooked in clay cookware.

Maybe not dissimilar to other forms of clay pot cooking, and there are quite a few, but in my experience the end results are very different.

I think maybe it is catching on. Just a couple of years back, it was very difficult to find any Römertopf recipes online, but there are loads now.

I've got one of those Terry but the lid is too slippy to take off so I put tinfoil between the top & bottom

Oh eck, Nanaj, never had a problem with ours it's a bugger for storing away though, it often gets knocked when putting it away or getting it out.
