Threaten to give them spam butties. That should quieten them down.

Is it any reason prison now, isn't the deterrent it once was.. Why not say ANYONE FOUND WITH DRUGS IN THEIR SYSTEM WILL HAVE 6 MONTHS ADDED TO THEIR SENTENCE.

I have said many times. Twelve years should be twelve years and time ADDED on for bad behaviour.

The justice system in the UK isn't fit for purpose. These mild sentences handed out for the scum isn't any deterant whatsoever and sends out a bad message to criminals. Jail time should be hard labour, most inside have never worked a day in their life and that would come as a shock.

The mild and suspended sentences are handed out because the prisons are overcrowded.

Perhaps, if they had far stiffer sentences with hard labour attached and no remission, parole etc. there might not be the same level of crime.

When I worked in Hmp Altcourse in Liverpool every wing had a snooker and pool table . When new inmates first arrived in prison they're asked what religion they are many would say muslim because they had the better food.

And there lies the problem, prisons like Butlins with a life of leisure and good food provided.

All at the taxpayers expense, which they are not!

To be honest I wouldn't like to be in prison no matter how good the food is or what leisure facilities they have. I'm sure though that there are those that thrive in prison, the hardened criminals and those institutionalised.
