The government are alleged to screw the pensioners again.
1st they raised the female pension age straight from 60 to 66 years of age.
2nd the BBC via the Government said most pensioners over 75 yrs of age now have to pay for a Tv Licence
3rd they are going to raise the age for a free bus pass from 60yrs of age to 66yrs of age (Greater Manchester already at this age)
4th they want to raise the age for free prescription also to 66 yrs of age.
Is there anything else that they can hammer pensioners for

Yes PeterP

They could 'revoke' retirement, and make the OAP's go back to work

You are not a pensioner till you retire. If you are working then why shouldn't you pay for your transport or prescriptions like everyone else.
If you suffer from certain conditions or are claiming benefits you get free prescriptions. I may be wrong but 75 year olds who claim pension credit can apply for a free tv licence.

If a person has worked for 40 years, paid their subs AND also paid into a private pension, then retired and got another job in B&Q showing punters where to find the correct nail to put a picture up with,
They deserve to pay for a TV licence and a prescription! They’ve earned it !

That's what happens when you vote the Tories in

And that is also what happens when they have an unpopular opposition party, and although Labour is ahead in the polls right now, the Tories know that they are no threat to them at the next General Election, hence the harsh policies, but if Labour were a genuine threat to the Tories, then there is no way that they would be putting those types of policies through.

I cannot see the Labour party ever being a genuine threat to the Tories again.

They said that after the Labour Party lurched to the left in the early 1980s when Michael Foot was leader, it looked like they were finished, and the Tories put through policies, which I disagreed with at the time, and I disagree even more with those policies now, than what I did 30-40 years ago.

Privatising the Utilities, and Public Transport, an absolute disaster.
Right to buy, sale of Council Housing, leading to a severe housing shortage, and sky-high property prices.

They also managed to bugger up the buses, starting in 1986 with that deregulation bill, and now they have managed to bugger up the taxi industry too.

And that Whupsy calls me a Tory

And Whupsy, it is NOT what I voted for.

But Labour were not finished in the early 1980s, and who would have though that Tony Blair would have come along and won two landslide general elections, and a third term for Labour, so never right anything off in politics.

According to the ‘in the know’ Wiganers, Wigan is under Labour Control.

Wigan, then, won’t be affected by all these Tory policies?

Yes, and they are the modern day equivalent of the 'Militant Tendency' of the 1980s, which the Labour Party got rid of back then.

Still out of order. If I went on the sports page and said the only good United player was a dead one the uproar, quite rightly so, would be horrific. At the least I would expect the comment to be deleted.

Broady the reason that million’s of people voted Tory is because that lying tool who’s running the country said he wanted out of Europe and was going to stop all the illegal’s from crossing the channel, and did he, did he hell.
I’m not into politics now because I don’t know who I can trust.
