Tuesday 5th November 1974....a young 16yr old spotty faced Billinge Biker was en-route from Wigan North Western to Ipswich to join the Royal Navy at HMS GANGES to enlist as a Radio Operator... Left in 1979. Two days later Lord Lucan did his nanny in.... What was you upto? Can you remember.?

I remember at 4am the following morning a dustbin being thrown the full length of the mess to startle us out of our beds.... What had I signed upto I thought. Then there was the daily dawn chorus for the next six weeks of basic training.
"Wakey Wakey rise and shine.. You've had yours now I want mine.. Hands off c***S and on with socks... Get up you lazy B******S".

I was still at school, Shevington County Comp. They say it's a ' Beacon of Excellence ' these days. It was a beacon back then too as it was frequently on fire :)

Had to correct my English a few times so the southerners could understand me!! Never did manage a world tour roylew... Many a visit down the Gut though.
