Once in a life time experience, Love in the Garden
Last night a couple made love in my greenhouse, they did't know I have a camera in there and they was ' at it' for nearly 2 hours, Of course I cant post the video on here because of the sly digs and insinuations that would follow but, I will post it in a place where the comments can be controlled on tuther site,
probably tonight around 8 pm, see ya there,

Mr grimshaw got it one, Smut, NO, perv,NO, This is an educational video on nature, Its an 1/2 hour long video of a chance in a life time to see 2 hedgehogs courting, I did not know there was two hedghogs in my garden and I'm thinking, " how lucky am I", Did they do it it front of the camera as a thank you for feeding them, I don't think so, its pure luck and good fortune that it happened where it did at a time the battery was still charged
David attenborough is going to be knocking on my door for a ticket tonight, you just watch,,

They do like the suet pellets i put in the bird feeder on my back grass tom .
I noticed them at it the other night under my miniature apple tree at aprox 9.30 ish

grimshaw I'm not 100% positive but I think mine has made a nest under the shed, I say this because i've put a feediing station there and it feeds there at dusk so, I'm guessing its his/her breakfast and I scatter mealworm in the greenhouse so he/she will forage for them and get the slugs and snails too. and, I've not seen a slug this season, normaly the seedings have been eaten by them, Its doing a grand job,

common dominator is, bore and boar, after that, just sad ness,
anyrode back to the topic,
I'm thinking that My prickles is the sow because , when the boar came in she got all protective and balled up in the defensive position,
OR
could it be that the boar is My Prickles and the sow ventured on his territory stole his food and was looking for fertilization but playing hard to get,
what do you think ??

mealworms are bad for hedgehogs [google it for information]. we had them coming for ours then lost 2 young ones and I was told about this. My friend was putting out dog and cat food which is OK but then she got a rat problem!

Mr grimshaw, I use this camera to check if the hedgehog takes it, Its supposed to have a motion detector inside but, don't count on that, set the camera up at dusk and it will run for 2 hours, then its flat

Thanks for that Kathpressey,. I'll change the mealworms to cat treats, the birds will thank me too becasuse they have been getting less just lately as I've been sharing with the hedgehogs.

I still have in my possession old RSPB material which quite explicitly says, "Do not feed wild birds unless there is a hard frost covering the ground!"
Does anyone know why they performed a pirouette: a 180 Degree 'U' turn, and now have copious advice to the contrary.
They did give a full explanation of the prior advice.
Is it simply that folk who will give them money, like feeding the birds, and the health of their coffers comes before the health of the birds?

There seems to be a lot of 'Experts' about who tell us what is good for the animals, In humans too, don't eat chips, don't drink beer, Eat and drink all things horrible and live a long horrible life BUT, I'll follow the advice and if the hedgehog moves off, I've learned another lesson and the slugs have won again,

If you see me in your garden, please add some food (raw unsalted meat, minced meat ... I also like cat pellets ????) and water. Do not give me milk - it causes stomach problems and I may die of dehydration. But I am naive, and when I see milk, I drink ... Do not give me milk!
Do not use insecticides or traps! I am harmless and I help in your garden because I feed on insects that attack your vegetables!
My species is disappearing ...
Help me stay alive! ?

Hedgehog numbers have reduced by aprox 46% in recent years according to a report yesterday and are now classed as vulnerable .
The report states farming ,habitat loss and fragmentation are mainly to blame .

Thanks Tom.
I will try a biscuit or two .
They favour beneath my miniature apple tree so last evening at dusk i dropped a few small cubes of melon there .
They loved it although i am not over sure if it does and good or indeed any harm .
