Manchester Rd and Belle Green Lane Ince

First four are the crossing on Manchester Rd.

the second photo his the house i was born in in 1944 my mother father mam and dad sister and me all lived there i lived there until i wed in 1963 some very happy times there and some very sad ones i have some of the other photos you have put on but that one i didnt have i have printed it hope you dont mind

I drove up Belle Green Lane today and like always I look at the patch of grass at the side of the Oak Tree Pub and think about the railway crossing, which was once there, the grass on each side of the road there, follows exactly the direction of where the railway line went

It was the late 60s, I lived in Darlingon street which is the street shown on the 2nd photo, and we had to move to Platt bridge due to so called slum clearance, We did 6 weeks in Mersey road, which seemed the same as doing 6 years in Jail, we couldnt wait to get back to Ince

Brilliant fotos, I can remember the crossings,Manchester Rd vaguely,but Belle Green Lane quite well,but I dont recall the cobbles,any idea when they were replaced

Here's the crossing again with an engine on it.
You can also make out the slag tip on Hemfield Rd.
Not quite from the same angle in street view, but not far off.
