Yes, I know two of them. This Bowling Club of Leigh has the best bowling green I have ever seen; the greenkeeper works very hard on it day in and day out. Me and my husband are members of this club, it's local, and the beer's good (so my husband tells me !!)

locklass-Is their any chance of you printing 1 or 2 off for them, are putting the club address on here for me to post some, I've not dropped on the before I think they may be a new team in this year
fossil- It's a free afternoon out as the club only opens at 3.30pm and the match is over by then,so you can't buy you apponent a drink if you win but they do get free tea and biscuits

Tyldesley used to have bowling greens like yours and then Wigan Council ripped them up in favour of a 'low maintenance park' - I remember putting greens , tennis courts, rose-beds, greenhouses, toilet facilities, a bandstand and an exceptional well kept park just like the parks you see in the town of Wigan today - treasure what you have because what has been Wigan Council's gain has been to the detriment of local towns such as Tyldesley, Atherton and Leigh
