Norley Quarry?

Started by: twigginer21 (1743)

Ok, sorry for sounding dumb lol. The field that is between Marsh Green and Montrose/Selkirk Grove/Falkirk was Norley Quarry wasn't it? It's just that on a 1908 map it looks closer to Scot Lane?

What was called Norley tip was just off Scot Lane, late Fifties early Sixties. Roughly where Scot Lane playing fields are now.

That's where it shows on the map that i have, which is why i was confused! I always thought Norley Quarry was where Selkirk/Falkirk is, and heard many tales about as my nan used to live there! But my map shows the field on Plane Avenue/Scot Lane as Norley Quarry! So that'll be why the field has not been built on?

Falkirk grove and Selkirk grove were built at the side of Norley Quarry. They wouldn't allow building on top of what was once a filled in quarry.
The exact area of the quarry is outlined below. Swam in there many a time, up until a boy from St.Cuthberts school drowned in there.

Property shop. Started life in the Netherlands I beielev. Now, due to EU legislation, all Housing associations and Councils have to put most of their properties through them.
They are SH*TE. Fail to check refs, don't care who is put where as long as they are seen to be doing their job of rehousing the most unsuitable people in sensitive letting areas. Cretins the lot. *Deep breaths*
