Missing

Does anybody know anything about Nana Jacque, she hasn’t been on these boards for ages ..I hope she isn’t ill.

There are a few missing, Momac. Peter Israel hasn't posted in around 12 months now, Golden Bear has gone quiet, and quite a few others. It's a pity nobody can let us know if folk are ill or why they haven't posted in a long time.

Have you checked the Online Obituaries & Death Notices in Wigan

Well, that wouldn't help, would it, because we don't know their real names, and in any case, Peter Israel lives in - let me see. Israel!

Some members families may not know about this site or it is low priority and are not bothered about letting members know of any demise of a member
Mollie yes I am very much alive and kicking .Just had 5 days on the Isle of Man. Looks like I have not missed much to discuss about.I picked up a Legs of Man flag to add too my collection

Aw Peter, I didn't mean you. I meant Peter Israel. I had a feeling you might have gone off on another jaunt somewhere. Hope you enjoyed IOM. I've been three times and loved it every time.

Nomac,
I was in touch with Nana Jacqui a couple of weeks ago. She seemed her normal self.

I'm very pleased to hear that Gaffer and its good news, It seems she just got fed up of the negativity that goes on here now,

Well, it shows what she thinks of you lot, but wait a minute, how can you play Scrabble with foreigners? They will say, well, it's a word in my country, and that's how you spell it.
Replied: 8th Jul 2025 at 12:02

Hi momac thank you for your concern but I'm fit and well....go walking every day to get my steps in...then when I've finished my jobs in the house & garden I play Scrabble online with people from different countries....It keeps me busy and helps my brain...If someone puts a word in that is not acceptable then the powers that be decline it...Hope you're keeping well and best wishes to all Wigan Worlders...

I am glad that you are well

I'm glad someone was able to contact Nanajacqui, but what about Golden Bear, Linma, Ann-Spam, Jo Anne, AngelWood and the others? The last time Jo Anne posted was on my birthday in 2024, and it's been 5 years since Ann-Spam last posted. Maybe I've missed something, but I hope they're all okay.
(Why have the posts become italics).

Mollie, I'm sad to report Anne Spam who changed her name to Annie Dingle sadly passed away a couple of years ago, Momac , who was Annie's good friend posted it here
Replied: 8th Jul 2025 at 20:44

Thank you Tom. I remember Annie Dingle and what had happened, but I didn't know of the name change. Very sad .

We also lost Elizabeth who I think was slowly loosing her sight and was always posting about how to increase the size of the writing on the threads and I used to post in bold for her
Replied: 8th Jul 2025 at 23:12

Yes, Elizabeth was a delightful lady and, if I remember rightly, she was erecting a fence in her garden when she was around 90 years old. Fitter than a butcher's dog.
We've lost a lot of nice folk from here over the years, but it's the ones who just haven't posted much, or at all, recently. I know Holly pops in every now and again, and even Custard makes an appearance every few years.
Maybe we're just being too nosy, but only out of a lack of concern.

Brainless Baz. Probably they are English speaking foreigners. Quite a lot of English speaking nations around the World and quite a lot of English speaking people in non English speaking nations and quite a lot of English people living in foreign countries.
Or maybe Nana Jacquie is multilingual. Or maybe they have a translation facility. Who knows? But I'm sure she isn't telling porkies. Do you ever take the time to think before typing. .

Nice to know she is still living life to the full and broadening her horizons in the process.
Replied: 11th Jul 2025 at 13:48

Why don't you go and play Scrabble with the foreigners............EH
Replied: 11th Jul 2025 at 13:53

Oh dear!! Brainless. Is that your best come back?
Anyone can play Scrabble with anyone in the world, online. But unfortunately for you, you have little grasp of the English language, so you will need to at least go back to the basics (like learn your alphabet) to take part. So, go on. Why don't you give it a try EH!!
Replied: 11th Jul 2025 at 14:25

That way we wouldn't have to put up with your nastiness..........EH, how about it
Replied: 11th Jul 2025 at 14:49

Go boil your head in a dictionary and maybe you might post something worth reading. EH? How about that?
