St Annes Beach
St Annes Beach has topped the list for the best beach in Lancashire, according to TripAdvisor.
"Lytham St Annes is the postal name for the general area - it isn't one place.
For people wishing to visit, please note that Lytham and St Annes are two separate towns separated by 2 suburbs of Lytham - Fairhaven ( with a lake, bowling green and tennis courts) and Ansdell, a residential area with a village centre).
The best deals on package holidays from 20+ leading travel brands, all in one place.
St. Annes on Sea has a traditional pier, sandy beach, promenade with beach huts and beautiful gardens. Lytham is a lovely little town with independent shops and is situated near the river estuary - it is known for its windmill, the green and annual music festival. Both nice places to visit but very different identities”

Tha not wrong Tonker, Lytham St Annes is easy to park and un crowded although, Its park n pay and monitored, St Annes is chocka and hard to park and I can't figure out why,,
My theory is the pie shop queue syndrome
which is, If people see two pie shops, one has a queue and the other does not, most people get in the long queue believing , the pies are better,
A pie is a pie and after its etten its forgeeten,
Is that worth a wait ?,,
I always go for the short queue,

Had I known you would be in the area I may have convinced my aunt to let you park on her drive. Maybe you would have be offered some of her famous home made lemonade, with lashings of ice.

Tom, Lytham St Annes is one of the loveliest coastal places I've been. We went there one Sunday afternoon by accident. I think we were on our way somewhere else, maybe Blackpool, but ended up in LSA instead.
The main thing I remember about it was what's in my memory as a small pier and there was a stationary train serving as a cafe where we had some grub. It was a lovely afternoon.

Yes Mollie, we enjoyed the day and its a place I will return time and time again, Now then,
this is Southport on the hottest day this year

Nice video, Tom. I used to love Southport.

Southport is nice Mollie but, Like a lot of places it has gone, down market, All the posh shops on Lord St have gone and more and more ' tat shops' have took over, In my video the streets are empty and the cafe's shut before tea time, Elvis never showed up, The carousel where the bikers meet was shut and the bar we went into next to the old open air baths was empty, bear in mind, This is Mid Summer, I like uncrowded places so I enjoyed the day with my buddies,,

Tom
Southport Pier, which was closed some three years ago because of health & safety concerns, is going to be repaired and reopened by the government, who are going to pay for it's repair and renovation, so it's not all doom and gloom for Southport LINK

Napoleons nephew once lodged on Lord st..and liked the wrought iron on the street so much he took the idea back to France..there is a plaque on the wall facing the front..I think it’s on the wall of one of the houses.

Lytham (Wikkkkkiiiiii place name) known by locals as Gods waiting room. Fact.
Replied: 22nd Jun 2025 at 19:00

Ha Ha , peebee I fully understand that fact, In the late eighties I was a heating engineer and worked the Fylde coast servicing heating systems, It was always a bad place to get through because senior citizen drivers go there in droves and, now I've become one,,,,,

I don't suppose you've been riding anywhere today Tom? It's definitely not been the weather for it, so what have you been doing to keep you out of mischief?

Sulk!
Have you named it Tom's Tavern in neon lighting over the door, and the opening times?
I've found it to be quite cold today so I've had my electric fire on for some of it. Bang goes the cheaper lecky bill for this month.

Flippin' heck, Tom. You've got that kitted out well and good. Hope you've not got a pesky TV and jukebox hidden away somewhere to spoil the atmosphere.
