It looks like Lisa’s in trouble.

Daily Mail
Lisa Nandy is facing the sack at the next Cabinet reshuffle after Downing Street sources complained that she 'doesn't work hard enough'.
Ms Nandy's exit is expected as part of a pre-summer Government 'reboot' by Sir Keir Starmer, which is also set to include a move for embattled education secretary Bridget Phillipson.
A source said: 'Lisa seems to work about two days a week on her portfolio.'
Other critics said she is only interested in the 'sport' part of her brief in running the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
But allies of Ms Nandy claimed she had been targeted by No 10 Chief of Staff Morgan McSweeney because she had become a Cabinet flag-bearer of the Left, including objecting to the Government's welfare cuts.
An MP said: 'They just want to purge the Left – even though Lisa is actually soft Left.' Others say the reshuffle should bring in 'new talent' and reflect frustration among new Labour MPs that some in the Cabinet were 'carried over' from Opposition.
'Keir needs the best people around him – some of the Cabinet are just not good enough,' one said.
Ms Phillipson is judged by Downing Street to have mishandled her brief, attracting opposition to her proposed reforms to the academy system.

So. Nandy may be sacked for nor doing her job. What a surprise, not. I haven't heard her speak on the welfare cuts so can't comment. But left wing she is definitely not. In my opinion.

Why has it took the press so long to find out what we in Wigan have known for a long while?
As for being left wing, they must be joking!

Lisa Nandy is clearly left-wing. I can't see how anybody can say different?

Wigan Labour Party have never ever had a left wing candidate to represent the Constituencies within the Borough and from what I was told by a former Labour Councillor, neither has it had or will have in the Wards of the Council as Wigan Labour Party is known as being on the moderate side of the party.
In no way is Lisa Nandy a left wing Labour Politician like Tony Benn, Les Huckfield, Dennis Skinner etc, etc

Besides feathering her own nest what was the last thing anybody can think of that she did for her constituents of Wigan

She had a Curry at a local Indian Restaurant and a drink at a local pub on two of her rare visits to Wigan!

Completely agree with you OC. There is no comparison between the true left wingers and Lisa Nandy.

A politician who's entire career has been championing social equality, diversity and anti-globalization is clearly left-wing.
Traditional Labour? No! ...... Left-Wing? Yes!

Yes but she hasn't been doing her job, has she. More interested in the Sports side of her portfolio. She may be sacked because of it.

Owd Codger said, "Wigan Labour Party have never ever had a left wing candidate to represent the Constituencies within the Borough"
and what a small-minded statement that is!
HaHa!

You may think so, but it is true about Wigan Labour Party being on the right of the party.
In the sixties, they even banned their Young Socialist section because in their opinion, they were too left wing!
Having been a former member of the Wigan Labour Party and a active trade unionists and employee of Wigan Council, I think I know a bit more than yourself of what goes on within the local Labour Party and the Labour controlled Council!

“Wigan Labour Party” and “Wigan Labour Controlled Council” indeed!

Your comments on the topic remind me of some of the Labour Councillors I came across during my employment with Wigan Council.
As for brainwashing, they are experts, especially at any election time!

To all those Labour voting people on here, who have no doubt experienced the post WW2 Labour Governments up to the present day, can you honestly say that you belive that the country was better off under Labour ?
Tony Blair for me did about the best job, but that was by implementing policies embracing the Centre of British politics, with good policies from both Conservative and Labour Party sources in fact during the general election campaign of 1997, I seem to remember the Conservatives complaining that Labour was pinching their policies, but surely that is what should happen, take the best policies from all sides of politics to make good the country.

Spot on APLS, these lot at present are a total disaster. They couldn't run a race never mind a country, and before the usual folks come on and start blaming everything on the tories just look at the stats.....Sodding disgraceful.

Again ….. the country is run by the government. The government is a non-political entity.
Parliament ….. controls the government. PART of Parliament represents us men. That PART is the so-called ‘political party’.
They don’t have FULL control of the government.
US men and THEM men. It’s a class system. None of US men can ever become one of THEM men.
ie: here’s a clue - you can be a member of the Labour Party, or any other political party, and can become an elected councillor or an MP even, but you will never run the council.
