I've said before that I don't know what day it is half the time, but I honestly thought the clocks go forward next Sunday.

An extra hour is all yours Tom, so enjoy it!

I hate these two time changes every year. It upsets me order of balance and, for instance, if it says 3 p.m. on the clock, I think to meself, it's only really 2 p.m. so it takes a few days to convince me it's really the time.

That's exactly what I mean Peter. I don't know why they still bother with all that nonsense, but we're not the only country that does this. I must ask my friend in Canada why theirs changes next time she emails me.

What other larger countries have with time zones has noting to do with the twice yearly nonsense that takes place in our country.

Time it was ended and British Summer Time became permanent!

I quite agree with you Owd Lad. There's nothing worse than having to drive to work in the dark in a morning, and dark driving home. Personally I'm not up that early in the mornings these days, but the full time workers are, and it's even worse when it's snowing or foggy, or other bad weather conditions, most especially on the motorways.

I'd vote for permanent BST as well.

I agree to keep to a same time zone but, Which is the better, BST or GMT, personally I can't see a difference ?

over to the think tank,,,,,,,,,,

Which would you prefer, Tom. Dark in the morning and dark early nights, or:

Lighter mornings and lighter longer nights?

I like Summer when its light early and light late, I would like that all year long but, we can't have it and I can't make my mind up which is best so, lets have a vote

GMT or BST ?

Well we have to have both as we're not consulted, but my vote would be BST.

Mr Apples, however, would probably vote GMT as he loves the gloomy days and nights, and fog, and cold, and snow, and ice. Odd sort of chap!

How on earth can anyone prefer having more darkness than light in the evening?

Time the national anthem was changed to the song, "Always look on the BRIGHT side of life" to offset the everyday news of doom and gloom!

There is no difference to the length of daylight in the day, its just whether you prefer it in the morning or evening, If you are a morning person and like to get out when the dawn chorus is happening. wandering about with the sun out and not many folks about, Then GMT would be your preference and I would also vote for GMT
as a matter of interest, which of the two would put the Sun higher in the sky at 12 0 clock noon because that would be the one that nature would choose ?

Tom, that lad you were on about, who went missing when the TT was on in Poolstock?
I heard they've pulled him out of the canal this morning, behind Asda? Darren his name is.
